UNEP/ROWA has been working to addresses the key issues involving urban environmental quality, municipal waste management, Green Buildings and Construction, and improvement and mitigation of transport emissions and pollution by integrating strategies and policies relevant to the environment, urban transport,
and energy sectors. The regional efforts examine the priorities for air quality management programmes
and reviews experience, including that of the clean fuel initiative CFI, to harmonize policies in different sectors with air quality management efforts. UNEP-ROWA organizes numerous regional/international activities every year concerning EST of Water and Wastes, based on DTIE-IETC programmes.
